If I had tried it beforehand I would have returned it. It comes without instructions for use, ie where to insert it to read the temperature; I guess the ear. But most importantly, it claims to provide instant temperature readings, but it actually takes 25 to 40 seconds. It's impossible to keep a cat sitting still for 40 seconds with a hard plastic probe in its ear (and this is just a guess as to where to insert it). DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
