Overview + Installation Tip

Install a 2002 Limited Edition 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel Engine. I purchased this product to replace a Gates motor (part 38191) due to Gates having a belt fraying/manufacturing defect. A few points: 1. It comes with a bolt - very nice - and a little black seal on the bolt - good too.2. It has a factory tensioner on top. IMPORTANT! The belt will not tension until you depress the 1/2" tensioner (after installation) with a breaker/ratchet! It took me a minute to understand that. At first I thought I had a broken part. Once it's in place, reseat the belt, then pretend you're trying to take the tension off the belt (even if there's no tension yet) and it will snap/put tension on it .3. Probably has more tension than your old one! It looks like - ah! - a kind of point. but nearly broke his arm between the ratchet handle and the AC compressor when he slammed another 1-2 inches further/harder than the old one. The hand hurts. lol Maybe try pulling it up on the driver's side instead of pushing down on the passenger side? Good OEM product! It costs extra. Seems to have removed the truck idle which squeaked rough and natural.
