I want to give 5 stars for my use, after replacing the controller, and 3 stars if used with the included controller which hardly taps into the abilities of the lights themselves at all.To make them all they could be, I cut off the controller and soldered the wires to an D1 Mini ESP32 controller board ($5) flashed the WLED firmware (google it), and an IR receiver diode for the remote (optional, $0.10). Now I have computer and phone app control, along with the remote with buttons configured to whatever I want. If you can do simple soldering and search the internet you can do it.The lights are in a nice little frosted gob of plastic that makes them more mellow than many. Most of the time i run them at lower end of their power levels. For low mood lighting (nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more), if anything they're usually too bright and I often configure them to only light every 5th one.Tech notes: on full power mine pull about 1.2A and I can drive 2 strings nicely off a high power USB power supply. The pair of strings made a great perimeter to our bedroom. If I try to run them white on full power, the voltage drops over the distance and they turn yellowish. For most usage and color patterns it's not noticeable.
