A reliable device that will appeal to most.

Usage: Cook bacon and eggs 10 times for breakfast sandwiches 8 times, 1 time for hamburgers and 1 time for pancakes. Two adults and a teenager used this device. I have used 2 other similar devices. Pros: Seems to heat up quickly and evenly (pancakes only had a faint browning spot showing where the burning element was when cooked at 300 degrees Fahrenheit). A: For those who actively grill (i.e. can't leave the cooking alone), the glass top is basically useless. There are no marks to align the grill insert so the metal tab is on the right side of the assembly for the electrical wire to connect to. no problem. If you place it on the left, you're dealing with a metal protrusion that prevents the device from accepting a power plug. Cons: Draining grease takes up about 1.5 inches (10%) of valuable grilling space (with a ΒΌ inch buffer around the edges). non-stick coating. The surface scratches slightly (I already have stains on my hob). the jar and then when you open the jar it runs down the back of the pan and not necessarily into the big fat pan, otherwise it wouldn't be a scam, an accident. Pro because that's what happens when you cook. Rating: Replaced a big old frying pan with this one. 4 instead of 5 stars were mainly given because of the size of the pan and the scratch resistance. The previous pan could hold an entire pack of bacon, this one requires two batches. Otherwise it's a pretty solid device, assuming the non-stick surface holds up. Once cooked, the bacon appears to cook evenly with no need to move it (simply flip it so both sides are cooked to the same extent). The eggs are evenly cooked (omelet and egg whites), and it looks like the pancakes are, too (silver dollar sized cake consistency (i.e. thick and chewy versus thin and pliable)). As for the glass lid, if what you're cooking can just be left alone, that's fine. Just remember that steam will escape from both sides of the jar and lifting the lid will drain all the condensation down the jar. Some go into the drip pan and some don't (the back of the lid isn't really over the big drip pan, and there isn't really a defined drain into the drip pan for water to flow). I've never tried making an omelette and have never cooked a steak on it. My teenager cooked burgers on them and they came out great (there were even good grill marks).
