They recommend that you replace both bags together

After 80,000 miles I had a slow leak in the left rear bag so the car would sag in the morning they recommend you exchange both bags together. I installed two new Arnott airbags in our 2011 BMW X5 after the dealer said $1,500 for repairs and another $3,000 for the garage, so the effort saved me $1,100. It was a simple repair that took about 2.5 hours and cost less than $400. Arnott's video tutorial on their website was very helpful. The hardest part was getting the top pocket into the hole in the frame because you can't see what you're doing to line it up; It's like threading a needle with your eyes closed. A wizard to help you speed up the process, the second was easy because I knew what to expect. The other annoying part was reinstalling the fairing over the air compressor. My mistake was that I didn't pay attention to which piece overlapped which piece when I removed it. Our 315/35ZR20 wheels are beasts that need lifting and remounting. When I first took them off this machine myself, all repairs were previously under warranty. I think I could easily do it in half the time if I had to do it all over again. No noticeable difference in drivability or performance compared to genuine BMW parts. No special tools required, I used 8mm and 10mm sockets to remove the air compressor cover, a 10mm wrench, a Phillips head screwdriver to get to the battery, a flat head screwdriver, needle nose pliers, a 17" mm socket for wheel eyelets, jacks and coasters.
