Slightly smaller than the original BMW, some dexterity is required to engage

Used on the rear driver's side of a 2013 BMW X5 3.5 Turbo. Item fits, but I had to lower and then inflate the stand to engage the bottom tab. Definitely shorter than the OEM Airshock at rest. For a second I thought they sent me the wrong part. It needs a little support for it to click onto the bottom tab, but I figured it out once I had the airline plugged in and reconnected the power to the RED/BLUE airbox under the passenger side. Great tutorial on YouTube if you are looking for Rear Airshock

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Excellent quality replacement bags

I picked up a used 14' x5 and found the rear passenger bag sagged right after bringing it home. Every morning I noticed that the air compressor had to be turned on to refill it. Several times after work it didn't quite work out and the way home was very bumpy. I ordered 2 of these at once and couldn't be happier. I'm pretty good with mechanics so it wasn't difficult. It just turned out to be a lot easier to have an assistant with a crowbar help lower the rear wishbones while trying to removeโ€ฆ

Installing a 2008 BMW X5 3.0

Bought a pair for my 2008 BMW X5 3.0. Arnott has an installation video on YouTube that is very helpful. Installation took about 1-1/4 hours from start to finish. Most of that amount was spent on the first. This was the first time I've done this type of repair. Both old springs would fall to the ground every morning so the night before the repair I disconnected the negative battery cable so I didn't have to open the panel where the compressor and air is. lines lie. The new springs are holding up

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options

Quality parts, easy installation, save money!

My 2008 X5 has had a rear air suspension leak for half a year and the situation is getting worse. I finally bought replacement parts from Revain (Shockwarehouse dealer) and am very satisfied. Great price, easy installation. The hardest part for me was trying to install the new air spring in the correct hole position as you can't see it. I made the mistake of wearing gloves when doing this (to keep my hands clean) and wasted a lot of time. When I finally removed my gloves, it was fairly easy toโ€ฆ

They recommend that you replace both bags together

After 80,000 miles I had a slow leak in the left rear bag so the car would sag in the morning they recommend you exchange both bags together. I installed two new Arnott airbags in our 2011 BMW X5 after the dealer said $1,500 for repairs and another $3,000 for the garage, so the effort saved me $1,100. It was a simple repair that took about 2.5 hours and cost less than $400. Arnott's video tutorial on their website was very helpful. The hardest part was getting the top pocket into the hole inโ€ฆ

  • Permanent test results

Best as far as I know

Hello, I ordered this as an international customer from the US. I drive a BMW x6 F16 x35i. I removed the 40 amp fuse from the rear fuse box 6 ton stand and then removed the passenger side cover following the installation video instructions on the Arnott website. I would recommend only removing the fuse if you have a carly or other programmer otherwise you will have to disconnect the battery or the car will report an air suspension fault and you will have to clear it. Nuts 10mm but not forโ€ฆ

OEM REPLACEMENT AT A GREAT PRICE.

These hanging bags fit the 2013 X5 xdrive50i (Direct Fit) without any problems. They look a bit thinner in diameter than the originals pulled out, but the old ones may have stretched a bit after 100,000 miles. The SUV keeps getting stuck in the back and sometimes the alarm goes off. This was a sign that they had run out and needed to be replaced. When looking for OEM prices, prices were inflated as usual. It cost about $700 for two bags. To replace, be sure to read the instructions. A commonโ€ฆ
