The packaging was cardboard and no graphics which is something I usually look for. I like packaging that is graphic and descriptive of what's inside. It's kind of like the old saying you eat with your eyes first. This packaging didn't make me hungry for whats inside. Enough about that because what was inside made up for it.The quality of these two pieces is evident. The heft of the burger press stood out as soon as I picked it up. I put it on the scale and it came in at just a hair under 2.5lb.! Impressive! The press is smooth on the bottom so no grooves for the meat to get stuck in but I use a sheet of parchment in between the press and the meat so I never have this problem anyhow. If I may give all you smash burger fans out there a tip try smashing your burgers first before you put them on the griddle. You lose no juices while smashing the burger raw it all stays in the meat! The stainless steel dome is not as hefty of course nor should it be. What I look for here is is it round? When I set it on my stainless steel table it laid flat, it touched the table all the way around. Finally it was a classy move to put the etched company logo on the burger press. Nice touch. I'm confident in giving this five stars without actually putting it to use yet. I'd say you can buy with confidence. It may be a bit more expensive than some of the other press/dome combo's out there but the quality here is worth the few extra $$.
