Review on 2021 thinkcar Thinkscan Plus S2 OBD2 Scanner: Advanced Vehicle OBDII Scan Tool with 28 Maintenance Services & 3 System Diagnosis by Chris Crisler

Better for advanced mechanics.

You get this diagnostic scanner for the price. I wish there was a storage box included. When you get this for the first time, you have to do a little setup that involves a lot of software updating. You get all of your core software along with a choice of two additional scan options such as TPMS relearn, injector coding, tire reset, power switch reset, sunroof reset, seat reset, airbag reset, odometer reset and more . After choosing the two you want for free, you have the option to buy the others for a certain price. Most of the updates available for download are for luxury cars like Aldi, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and so on. As I said before, all basic checks can be done with this scanner. You can read codes, clear codes and reset some sensors. You get a real-time stream of data, which is great. For the price you can drop this scanner a bit. This is at a higher level and works better than your lower level scanning tools. This is best for an experienced mechanic as there is a lot of navigating involved. If you don't have experience, let me give you a hint. Don't just plug it in and remove the bugs. This will erase all important data recorded on your system. Make sure you write down all your live dates and stuff first. It's just never a good idea to just hook up a scanner and clear the code to turn off the check engine light. You really lose a lot of important information that you will need later. As long as you do this you will be fine. Is this scanner worth the money? Yes. Definitely worth picking up. I also noticed that Think Scan has a lot of good YouTube videos. I would of course recommend it. It beats those cheap, low-budget scanning tools by a mile.
