The photos try to show both the rounded side and the flat side. This brush is the most amazing brush I have found for cleaning glasses and glasses as well as plates and pans. The reason it is slightly flattened on one side is so you can use it for any purpose without having to keep the flat edge brush and round edge brush on the dish dryer. This is just the right number of flats on one side to clean the slightly square (flat) shape on the outside of 1 liter jars. The brush also seems very durable and is just the right length for efficiency. The only downside is the outrageous price, but I understand that the tools to make such a unique shape don't come cheap. I intend to purchase a second one before quality and/or availability changes.
