If you want to work with an RPi and a breadboard this is a "must have". This allows you to move your Raspberry Pi around a bit without removing individual wires from the breadboard. This gives really clear signal identification and makes the wiring a little cleaner than trying to run the cables back to the RPi itself. Alternatively, if you have more than one of these devices, you can leave the breadboard configured and simply remove the RPI connection while it remains on the breadboard.
