Review on πŸͺš Hutchins 600 Air Sander - Superior Sanding Tool for Professional Finishing by Leon Johnsson

Great grinder but not the right one

First off let me say that I love Hutchins grinders and would rather pay more for them than any other brand. Before I got this grinder I had a 3500 which I liked but found it a bit heavy and had a 3/32 orbit so I needed something for bodywork. The 600 is much lighter than the 3500 (less than 2 pounds I think) and is said to be very aggressive. blows Bondo like there's no tomorrow. When I first got the new grinder I didn't really like it as it takes a bit of getting used to after using the 3500 for so long. It feels like it's revving much faster than 10,000 rpm. That's when my problem arose. I adjusted the air valve and it worked fine, but it seemed like the more I used it the faster it went. I later found that the valve was self-adjusting against vibration because after a few minutes with the grinder it was fully upright. Overall it's a great grinder, aside from the air valve issue, but it just doesn't feel like a Hutchins. I would definitely recommend it to all bodybuilders and painters. See model 500 (offset 3/32) for painters.
