My hummingbirds love this lid
I was hoping the nectar would be cooler but it's noon. But it does not protect against the sun in the evening. I also help hold rainwater. If your feeders are in a high wind area like mine, this is something you need to keep an eye on. This is a wind trap and causes the feeder to wobble more than without the cover and the wind caused my cover's lock nut to start loosening and the cover to unscrew. I caught it before the feeder collapsed and tightened everything. I still recommend it for sun and rain protection.
