Hummingbird customer support is questionable

I bought a Helix 5 G2 GPS fish finder. I like the functionality of the device, but I am not satisfied with the Hummingbird customer support. Unfortunately, my device turns off intermittently during use and I can't turn it back on for about an hour when this happens. It seems to me that this is an overheating issue, but Hummingbird disagrees. They seem to get complaints like this quite often (google and read the fishing forums) and they told me that the problem must be caused by my boat's electrical system (although my previous fish finder worked fine with this circuit. Okay, according to their recommendations I then connected a custom 14 ga wire circuit directly to the battery and secured it with a 3 amp cardboard fuse.Good news, but I've found that when I do a power reset (power off the unit for 10 seconds unplug mains) it can turn back on and I will have very important sonar info. I have sent an email to Hummingbird but have not received a reply from them yet. I will update this review when I receive it. Got that not chosen. Believe me, working with a man is much harder for a manufacturer than dealing with Revain. Unfortunately, is t now this 30 day return period has expired Rose. Sigh.
