I have been searching online and in store for a FOREVER pocket door lock. It seemed to me that there was no intermediate option. In stores you can find cheap crap that barely locks, and on the internet you can find locks that cost over $500 and require special mortise cutouts in the door that cost even more. I'm so glad I found the Prime-Line Pocket Door Privacy Lock! We've had this in our master bathroom for over a month now and it works fantastic. Definitely the best pocket door hardware I've ever used (I've stayed in cheap houses before). Not only does this lock look good because it's bigger than the cheap little ones, but the locking mechanism feels solid and you feel like it latches well and is secure. Unlike small cheap ones where you feel like a strong wind can open the door and expose you all. I love that the other side can be unlocked with a flathead screwdriver or even a coin and came in handy when my 4 year old locked himself in and panicked. She can lock/unlock it but it was new and she felt trapped and scared and I was able to open it for her. It's easy to use and looks great on my door. As an ideal mid-range product that is neither cheap nor outrageously expensive, I highly recommend this pocket door lock. The oiled bronze is a little different than my oiled bronze in the bathroom, but it still looks great and has a nice upscale door finish.
