This latch assembly is a genuine Toyota and a very difficult installation for a shop mechanic. However, there is a problem to be aware of. Many people refer to this part as an actuator. It is not. This is a bug I've had trouble with even at auto parts stores. I ordered an actuator but received a latch assembly. I have returned the shutter unit. to the parts warehouse and ordered the drive and bolt at the same time. They were significantly cheaper here at Revain and decided to change both. So just a reminder, if you're told you need a latch assembly, make sure you don't actually need an actuator. In either case, the latch must be removed to install the drive. If your electric locks are behaving strangely it is almost certainly due to a drive in one of the doors and the sunroof has known latching and drive issues. Do this work yourself. My local dealer charged almost $1,000 for the repair and I completed it in less than an hour.
