I upgraded my '07 Corolla radio to Pioneer DVD. I didn't want to cut the original wires off the factory wiring harness because if I ever sold the car I would put the head unit back in place. The Metra kit comes in two ways: to connect to the factory wiring or to connect to the factory radio. I bought both for two reasons, convenience. I wanted to make sure I had lots of wiring options for my Pioneer setup without cutting any wires. All of the wires were color matched exactly to my factory wiring harness and I rarely had to refer to the (included) wiring diagram in the Metra package. It was easy, everything was ready and my DVD works perfectly, not a single cable was cut. Metra offers a wide range of mounting accessories for most vehicles. Most kits are very cheap, but worth their weight in gold. Do not install a non-genuine radio in a vehicle without a Metra installation kit.
