2015 4Runner + 5 Channel Amplifier

Bought this wire harness, 70-1761 and 9 wire speaker wire to add a 5 channel amp without cutting the factory wires. Works like clockwork and fits perfectly. Use a 71-1761 wire harness to carry the signal from the speaker wires to the amp, then use a 70-1761 from the amp output back to the factory wire harness.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Null

Fits 2008 Toyota Tacoma OEM Stereo Jack

The OEM stereo in my Taco was removed to fit the new double A6 media head. The OEM stereo is still in great condition. Wanted to have cables to hook up in case I decide to install this OEM stereo in my garage or maybe go offline (DC powered). This wire harness connects to the main power connectors and speakers and the package is color coded/wire tagged.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Lots of Stuff

Works as described for 2018 Tundra SR

Perfect for adding more power to a factory 2018 Toyota Tundra SR. I had to connect 5 other wires that are in the factory version of this harness. If you are using it to connect a larger amp or speaker wire, you will need to disconnect 5 wires from the factory wiring harness. I used position couplers so I didn't have to cut any wires. There are better options for the "T" harness, but this option is about $60 cheaper.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Other Other

The installation of the amplifier has been greatly simplified.

Bought both 71-1761 and 70-1761 Because I added the amp to an existing car radio. That made the work a lot easier. I was able to solder and weld in all the connections at my kitchen table and when it came time to install the amp in the car all we had to do was connect the back of the radio and the wiring harness and the job was done. . 2016 Subaru Impreza added Alpine Boosters.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Acceptable: Auto Electronics Accessory

I used Metra's 71-1761 kit along with the 70-1761 Fusion Wiring Harness kit to install a small Class D amp in a 2012 Toyota Install factory Rav4 radio without navigation. Good quality connectors, terminals and wires. Metra plugs mate with OEM plugs as they come from the factory. Wire length, wire color, wire markers, and precut ends are nice, but once installed, no one will notice. There are cheaper kits out there but not so cheap that you risk getting a poor quality part. The Metra wiring…

Pros
  • Decent Performance
Cons
  • So-so

I'm trying to go back to stock.

I bought my 1988 4Runner when it was 2 years old. It came from the factory without a radio (it was a stripped down version, no frills). The original owner took it to Circuit City and installed the stereo. The installer did a great job with the wiring, cutting off all the connectors (and the part of the wiring harness they shouldn't have touched). It fits the original connector almost exactly, with no installation troubles. It's nice to have a plug for future replacements instead of constantly…

Pros
  • For Toyota 1987-94 onwards
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Works great BUT you may have to change if you keep the factory radio.

Ideal for 3rd generation Tacoma. This is a plug and play wiring harness for adding a second radio or an amplifier to your factory radio. Worked great BUT I had to use a tiny electronics screwdriver to pry a tiny tab on one of the wiring harnesses to pry that single wire out of the wad of plastic housing on the factory radio wiring harness because I didn't want to slide the factory wiring into the new wiring harness. The new wiring harness didn't have that single wire, and I wanted to make sure…

Pros
  • Designed to connect to factory radio
Cons
  • Modern

The Metra radio is a must!

I upgraded my '07 Corolla radio to Pioneer DVD. I didn't want to cut the original wires off the factory wiring harness because if I ever sold the car I would put the head unit back in place. The Metra kit comes in two ways: to connect to the factory wiring or to connect to the factory radio. I bought both for two reasons, convenience. I wanted to make sure I had lots of wiring options for my Pioneer setup without cutting any wires. All of the wires were color matched exactly to my factory…

Pros
  • Includes: wiring harness, instructions
Cons
  • Socket required
