Stripped adjustment screw threads

This clutch uses a threaded screw to adjust the leveling force and a screw in the channel on the sides for locking. The problem with this design is that the leverage of your car and trailer together is concentrated at the adjustment screw location. So it's very convenient when lifting trailers and trucks to adjust the leveling force, but it failed for me at some point after picking up the load and driving. Upon disassembly, I found that the threads on the adjusting screw had stripped, causing the screw to slide back and drop the tongue of the trailer as if there was no hitch attached to distribute the weight. This product wasn't a total waste, I put some shims on the adjustment screw to keep the angle needed to distribute the weight but this isn't mentioned anywhere in the instructions but the hitch would be absolutely useless if the shims did this would not serve as shims.
