Review on 🍳 Lodge Skillet 10.25" Dual Handle Pan: Efficient Cooking Essential by Justin Miller

Not as smooth as old cast iron I have

I have lots of old cast iron including pans. I have all the old cast iron smooth inside from below, this one doesn't. I don't know if it's because they don't process them or if they expect the build to smooth out the roughness. But I like the pan in general and will work on the surface myself. Used the pan for the first time and it is non-stick itself with plenty of oil. Sugar from sausages sticks to the cooking surface. The lodge doesn't seem to be doing anything to finish the hob. I will work on this by wiping it down with crumpled aluminum foil after each use and it will become smoother over time. The Dutch Lodge oven I bought has an "orange peel" finish. You don't spend a lot of work finishing these pans.
