This shade definitely reduces heat and UV rays. I purposely tinted half of the garage door windows to see the difference between the tinted and non-tinted sides. As you can see in my photos taken with my laser infrared thermometer, the difference between tinted and untinted sides is over 10 degrees where the sun is burning through the dark floor in my garage. I look ahead to see the difference getting all 4 lenses tinted makes. Reasons why this product did not receive 5 stars; not as mirrored or "one-sided" as advertised. When I look at the windows of my garage from the outside, I see no difference. But from the inside you can see the difference. Also, these are small windows so I didn't have a large piece of foil to work with, but it curls easily making it difficult to work with during application. If I had bigger windows it would be difficult to do this on my own without help. All in all a good product and worth the time and money.
