Here's the thing. My garlic was too old/dry. When I tried to stretch it with this thing, almost nothing came through the holes. Most of my garlic didn't crush and I ended up with an uncrushed bunch of garlic (see picture). Basically it was a great loss. By cutting the cloves into 4-5 small "coins" I was able to puree them all without much loss and no waste at all. So this is a little tip for you if you have the same problem. Not sure if it was my garlic or if this thing isn't working so well. However, it costs money just for that garlic peeling thing. I can't find enough words to describe how much I hate peeling garlic. I even started buying canned garlic to avoid peeling, but that was a bad idea. The green tube works like magic! No more peeling or crushing garlic cloves with a knife! The rest of the components (brush and blade) did their job well.
