I've finally found a great authentic recipe for roasted beans from scratch, but it calls for a whole bulb of chopped garlic. Here's the thing. My garlic was too old/dry. When I tried to stretch it with this thing, almost nothing came through the holes. Most of my garlic didn't crush and I ended up with an uncrushed bunch of garlic (see picture). Basically it was a great loss. By cutting the cloves into 4-5 small "coins" I was able to puree them all without much loss and no waste at all. So this is a little tip for you if you have the same problem.
