I used two spacers to raise and lower a floor trap (basement access hatch) that an 84 year old woman could handle herself. They were easy to install, although finding the hardware to attach them to the frame and hatch wasn't easy. no manufacturer error. The most important factors are knowing the weight to be held. Too much weight and the frames won't hold, too little weight and the frames won't close! I am very happy that my client can now enter her basement without outside help.
