Review on ⚡️ Briggs & Stratton 696540 Electric Starter Drive Kit: Easy Start and Reliable Retention with Roll Pin Retainer by Mike Rogers

My starter for the generator fell apart on everything on the shaft. Old, old, obsolete generator. The numbers on the old starter did not match any available ones. Lots of searching and no dice. It's good that the starter still turned. The specifications of these parts looked the same. So I rolled the dice and now I'm back in business. I ended up not using a stock because all the new parts fit on top of the old one and the new stock was a bit longer. Has been running for over a year with no problems. Saved me hours (although I was able to find an exact starter replacement which I didn't) and was a lot cheaper than a new motor. Happy with my purchase, will definitely be rolling again. The pieces seem a bit generic.
