3 Month Old Owner Here. I dive right into the business. Advantages: - Install in one go! Supplied with drilling templates and the necessary tools (except a drill) to complete the disassembly. The instructions are easy to understand, unlike most other instructions. - VERY smooth locking mechanism (smoother than our old Vivint smart lock and MUCH quieter than most I've seen) - Multiple unlocking options (fingerprint, keypad, RFID fob or your traditional key) - Fingerprinting is just as fast as unlocking of my phone with my fingerprint - RFID is also very fast (I use this unlocking method when I have really dirty hands for example due to gardening or cleaning) - Ability to sync with other SMONET smart locks in the house over the same Wi-Fi - Decent app for locking, unlocking and monitoring door lock activities, creating admins and other passcodes/fingerprint keys for others - The keyhole comes with a cover to protect it as it is rarely used - Voice non-disruptive like vivint - The battery life is amazing 3 months and the tailgate, the one we use the most still stands at 1 00% - Excellent customer service (more on that after the cons) Cons: - The locking button is just below the handle and is elevated. I wish it was edited so it wouldn't be pressed. I rarely do this, but when my dogs get excited and jump on the door, they sometimes press and hold the lock long enough to cause a deadlock and prevent anyone but the receptionists from opening the door. Luckily we have an app for that. While the locking voice isn't annoying, I still wish we could control the volume through the app. I wish there was a real lock button on the outside instead of holding #2 seconds I know). Still faster than locking with a key, but my Vivint lock had a button and I was able to lock it in under a second. - Still requires a Wi-Fi gateway to connect to Wi-Fi (a little outdated considering most smart things can now connect directly to Wi-Fi Back door) Front door lock started after less failing than 2 weeks of ownership (I understand not every product will be great.) The lock became unresponsive to fingerprints, passcodes and RFID, only the physical lock. The problem got bigger and more frequent as the last 3 months progressed. Eventually, within a week, the lock started draining fresh batteries and would forever not respond to any locking method (other than the physical key). MELODI from the SMONET team helped me troubleshoot and was in constant communication when we found that the lock was indeed defective she wasted no time in sending me a new lock which arrived two days later and sent it. In fact, I only received it 30 minutes ago and am preparing to install it and replace the broken front door lock. This rating will be updated over time. Thank you Melody for being awesome!
