I use these in our garage to keep vulnerable material off the cement garage floor. If you just set boxes and other absorbent material on a cement floor, they will attract and absorb moisture with potentially a bad outcome. When cars come in from rain or snow there's a bunch of water on the floor that may run in one direction and get things wet you want to keep dry. I believe these items are reasonably priced and easy to assemble.
