What nonsense! If you haven't tried making your own English muffins or crumpets before, this is super fun and EASY. I used the recipe for pancakes from the internet. It took about 10 minutes to prepare the batter (something like a pancake batter that uses yeast instead of baking powder). Lubricate the rings with oil, put them in a pan, pour in the batter and fry until the bubbles burst on top, like pancakes. Remove the rings with a fork or tongs, turn the cake and brown for a minute. Voila! An inexpensive way to try something new for breakfast or brunch, or in my case I gave them as a 'freshly made' gift. Have a good time!
