After they arrived in the mail, I washed them in the dishwasher for the initial cleaning. By the time I emptied the dishwasher, the surface of the supposedly high-speed, low-drag cranks were so worn it would have been like going back in time and using them in the Verdun trenches. It's one thing when they were marketed as hand wash only and not a macho squirrel's secret knife and I still tossed them in the dishwasher like a smooth brain. But I put them in the dishwasher for efficiency after the company told customers they were dishwasher safe, and now I have black knives with gray handles for yoga pants. A shame. I might consider buying them again and just hand washing them because otherwise they are nice knives and surprisingly comfortable to hold, but the experience really shook my faith in the company.
