I bought this for my friend to use in my car. it does not adhere well to the vents. The clips also detach from the air vent during normal driving. Clips don't stick to the ashtray at all, the ashtray just sits on top. If you have a breakaway Jeep this won't work on the center vent, it will hardly work on the side vents if the slightest bump (pothole) doesn't knock the ashtray off its clips. If you're planning on getting this and don't want to use a cup holder, buy a cup holder that slides out the window.
