I've used K&N filters on all my cars but was a bit worried when I saw so many reviewers saying they didn't fit in their Toyota's air box. It definitely has a thicker gasket than the stock filter, but I think there are three things that make buyers think this filter's housing is too thick: not making sure it's properly installed on the back of the airbox. They don't slide properly over the ledges on the back. One problem is that the airbox design isn't very good. Even with the stock filter, it won't close properly if you don't snap the rear right hardware. A brief guide is attached to the filter, I advise everyone to read it before installing this filter. Once you insert it properly and line up the back, the filter housing will lock and close properly.
