Review on Suehiro CR 3800 Double Sided Grinding Serakkusu by Lamar Vanderburg

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Real discount on whetstones

I have always had quality knives and have used stones to sharpen them for years. For the past few years I've been lazy and bought one of those cheap sharpeners that brag that a few quick pulls will bring your knives back to their factory edge. Needless to say it didn't work and all my knives became dull. I watched a few videos on the best stones and sharpening methods and first bought a 400/1200 grit diamond sharpening stone based on a guy's recommendation that it was the best and fastest way to go. It was expensive and did the job well, but I was disappointed with the feel and not happy with the sharpness. Consequently. I have purchased a Cerax 3800 and am happy to report that the 1000 and 3000 grit have worked admirably. I've sharpened all of my knives in about an hour, each taking 5 to 10 minutes to get a razor sharp edge. (Literally) Don't waste your money on expensive diamond sharpeners and certainly don't buy the sharpening toy you see at retail. Take a good stone and do it right. By the way, after sharpening my knives, I realized that I was used to using a dull knife and forgot how pleasant it is to use a razor-sharp tool in the kitchen.
