Review on AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Processor: Unlocked 8-Core CPU with Wraith Prism Cooler for Powerful Desktop Performance by Stanisaw Lewczuk ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality is top notch, be sure to try it.

I’m not a fanboy of any of the camps. Before that, I was Intel, but now I took AMD because they give top performance and for sane money. to which Intel has nothing to answer. (And there are no prospects for a couple of years . this is for the best - there should be competition, let Intel get together and give something new in a couple of years . they sat up resting on their laurels) By the very process: there was a choice between 3700x and 3800x, but since the price differed by 800, I took the latter. Tales about a heat pack of 3700 at 65 watts are pure marketing. 5 degrees, and in watts 15-25 approximately) As we wrote above, I also overclocked my instance to 4400 MHz for all cores and threads at 1.280 volts. At 4300, 1.265 volts is enough. In degrees, the difference between the two modes is 2-3 units. 1.4+ volts) heats up more and overclocking for all cores is max 4.2. Therefore, I recommend turning it off and finding a stable frequency for all cores yourself (4300 for all cores, I think many will take it at 1.25-1.3 volts) According to tests in LinX and the like - the percentage in overclocking at a frequency of 4400 for all cores above 83 did not warm up (the cooler holds). In practice, such a load will be rare. 10%, but AMD's workload is 25-35% lower, which hints at its power and groundwork for the future. With a conditional fps of 150 for Intel, AMD gives 145 fps, but the Intel processor is loaded by 35-70%, and AMD at 15-35. For iron in short: Mother - MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIF Cooler -DeepCool Gammixx (something like this, for about 3k) G. SKILL TRIDENT Z NEO F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC 2x8GB RAM Power supply - DepCool 700 watts (bronze certified) Video rtx 2070super (fires jet stream with top cooling among 2070) SSD - take the means of M2 or regular Case - Zalman i3 (4 coolers on board in the base) is quite satisfied with it.

Pros
  • Power, price, manufacturability (4 PSI-E, 16 threads)
Cons
  • Hot, which is expected, but you can live and fight with it if you dig a little in the BIOS (since PBO sets a deliberately high voltage) + budget tower cooler for 3k
