Easy to use compact meter

This meter comes in a zipped hard case that contains the meter and test leads. The promotional photos show neither the case nor the cables. The counter requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). The battery cover is held in place by tabs on one end and a single Phillips head screw on the other end. There are only two controls - an on/off button and a second button that controls the flashlight and adjusts the "sensitivity". The documentation is short but includes illustrations showing how to use each meter function. The operation of the meter is largely automated. The non-contact voltage detection works as expected. By inserting the wires into the bottom of the meter, you can measure AC and DC voltage, resistance, and continuity without switching modes. Voltage readings, both AC and DC, were accurate compared to a multimeter I trust. Resistance and continuity also work as I expected. Everything I tried worked as it should. If you briefly press the blue button, the LED flashlight on the top of the instrument will light up. A second short press turns the light off. The light isn't very bright, but it can be useful in a pinch. If you press and hold the blue button for a few seconds, high sensitivity mode will be activated. Normal non-contact voltage detection operation detects an AC voltage greater than 90 volts. In high sensitivity mode, detection is triggered at a voltage of around 6 volts. The practical effect is that the detector is activated a few centimeters away from a typical AC voltage source. I haven't found a good use for this mode yet. I like the compact size. When you don't need advanced features, this little multimeter does the job well and fits in your shirt pocket.
