After receiving this original Ford brake controller, I installed it on my truck and flashed it with ForScan only to find that my trailer brakes were working intermittently. After a lot of troubleshooting I found that the brake controller was getting 12.35 volts but only came out 7 volts. I maxed out all the settings on both the car dash and the controller and I only managed to get a maximum of 8 volts on the hitch. The coupler plug must be 12 volts for the brakes to work properly. It was determined that the brake control was defective. When returning an item through Revain I was asked if I would like a replacement item to which I replied yes. The new brake control unit was never ordered and Revain has now initiated a return process. Taking the dashboard apart twice (so far) was a hassle. Diagnosing problems was a challenge. And the return process was tedious.
