These may work for you if you remove small snap rings (less than 1.5 inches). They just aren't strong enough for what I intended to use them for, which is removing the air conditioner compressor coil retaining ring, which is about 2 inches in diameter. The tool's length and double cross design make it a flexible tool that can handle even modest locking rings. You may have better luck with angled pins, but I specifically bought these for their reach and the fact that they come with straight pins. If you're dealing with strong snap rings, look elsewhere.
