Review on Enhanced Verizon Novatel T1114v LTE Router: Seamless Voice and Fax Connectivity (Latest Version) by Chad Sornsin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Unattended SIM card slot (i.e. check if device is linked to another account upon receipt (like I had)). Nice wired LTE box

Bought at the Jetpack outlet store and activated under someone else's account for the first few weeks. Works perfectly, was able to activate it after waiting a few weeks. But when I first got it, the device was activated on a different account and Verizon wouldn't help me because I didn't know account owner details. Additionally, the account data usage was 24.99 GB per month, so heavy throttling worked. This was purchased as a second access point to overcome the first, which was on the verge of regulation. Even though it was enabled, it didn't really help me get out of the situation I was in, even if I wanted to use someone else's data. After a few weeks the device must have been removed from another account because I was finally able to request it to be added to the account without worrying that it was already activated. Also, a tech note about this item is that it is unusual compared to other hotspot devices. A SIM card is actually installed. And while it's not 100% non-removable, it is non-removable for all but the most determined person. You literally have to take the device apart and then I read that the SIM is removable and built in. A SIM card previously activated on another account. The YMMV.Voice service was not required to activate this device as an access point. Finally, a backup battery must be installed in the device. It provides backup service ONLY FOR THE VOICE COMPONENT. However, without the battery inserted, the device cannot be switched on at all.
