USE THIS TO REPLACE YOUR VERIZON FIOS ROUTER

Actiontec Bonded MoCA 2.0 Ethernet to Coax Adapter (ECB6200S02) The main reason I bought this product was to get rid of my Verizon Quantum Gateway router . I recently upgraded my Verizon internet to their "Gigabit" plan where they run a Cat6 cable from the ONT straight to the router. So if you have an Internet-only plan, you can use any router you like. I recently upgraded my router to a Netgear Nighthawk X10 router and it was plug and play, no configuration required. Since I have a cable box I had to use a Quantum router as a bridge to continue providing internet to STB. NO LONGER. With this adapter, I was able to completely take the Verizon Quantum router out of the loop and not use it at all. What you need to do is as follows: 1. Set up the MOCA bridge as Amin M. Astana said in another review. To do this, you need to connect to the devices via Ethernet one by one: * configure the interface manually on 192.168.144.2, netmask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.144.1 * connect the computer directly to the adapter with an Ethernet cable * connect to the address 192.168.144.30 in a browser * go to the "Configuration" section and change the RF channel to another value. I think I used a value of 1600. You can also take the opportunity to set a new PSK to encrypt the traffic exchanged on the MOCA network. You'll know the process was successful when: * the adapters still show green link indicators when connected to the coaxial cable; * Verizon router does not list Actiontec devices as DHCP clients. These devices are a great option if you don't have powerline and your house is connected via coaxial cable. see less 2. Connect your ethernet to your WAN port on your new 3rd party router (may need to do a DHCP release for this to work, I don't have) cable to the bridge coming out of the ONT.4 box . Plug the coax cable into the coax connector labeled "TV/STB Out" on the jumper that comes directly from the STB.5. Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port of a third-party router on the bridge. At this point, the Coax and Power LEDs should be lit on the MOCA.6 bridge. Reload your STBs (I only had one, but this should work if you have multiple STBs in a loop). I don't use this feature, so I can't speak to that functionality, but I've read that from other sources. Take this with a grain of salt.) I can't comment on the reliability of the Actiontec MOCA bridge yet, but what I do know is that it works as intended without any Verizon hardware (except for the STB). I will update this review to this part in 90 days or so to speak but for now it gets 5 stars! Keep for updates.
