Review on All Clad LTD 6 Piece Cookware Set by Benjamin Saric

Revainrating 5 out of 5

All-Clad is the best and will last a lifetime. OOO looks great.

My wife and I chose between the commercial non-stick Calphalon (now called "Modern"), which she preferred for its light weight, and All-Clad, which I prefer for its stiffer construction. We have plenty of each. All-Clad is better without a doubt. Heats up faster and more evenly. It seems that cooking requires a lower oven temperature. The anodized appearance is smoother and higher quality. The stainless steel interior is exquisite and easy to clean. This particular set is good. I could bet and say they should have included a 10" pan instead of an 8" pan. 8 inches is too small for everyday use. I have a family of 4 so I prefer a couple of large pans (12" for frying and 5L. Saute is really nice to have). The choice of stainless steel over non-stick is personal, but I recommend the stainless steel interior. First off, the stainless steel interior is virtually indestructible and will last a lifetime. The All-Clad nonstick interior is the best in the business, but it will wear out. I have had several non stick products from LTD for 9 years now. The ones that get a lot of wear start to wear out. There's nothing more pathetic than a battleship-built all-clad pan with a worn nonstick coating on the inside. It's like putting a fur in the back of a truck. Perhaps the non-stick coating is easier to clean, but the difference is trivial. They have intentions of cooking with less oil, but the difference between a nonstick coating and the superior stainless steel mirror of an LTD interior is also trivial. I find the case for nonstick coating to be hard to defend. As for the review, in the anodized coating is involved Aluminum body difficult to maintain, she must read the product literature. You clean anodized aluminum with a plastic sponge (like 3M Greens) with a cleaning bleach (like Ajax or Comet). Just make a paste with detergent and remove stains instantly. Anodized aluminum, like any aluminum, should not be washed in a bowl. Phosphates and bleaches in dishwashing soaps produce a chalky, powdery rot on an anodized surface. If you're determined to wash your dishes in the dishwasher, forget aluminum and stick with stainless steel. All-Clad is great with stainless steel cookware, but there's nothing quite like LTD's amazing black color.
