Cardboard box decorated with something big

Advertised as a "wooden" double board with a fabric cover. It's actually a wooden frame with two crossbars, covered with a piece of CARDBOARD and then wrapped in the prescribed cloth sleeve. I don't know if they went to a different school than me, but last time I read that cardboard isn't considered a durable building material. Because of this, our mattress sagged and started to creak very loudly. We had to replace it with a matching wooden sub-platform that reinforced our wooden slatted bed. Here's a tip: a 1 x 3 piece of lumber will run you about $2 at any hardware store. Buy as many of these as you need to create a solid base for your bed. We added felt padding to minimize and deaden any residual noise from the wood. This entire project cost less than $30 and created a much sturdier platform than this fabric wrapped cardboard box. I'm convinced they're just adding a cloth cover so you can't see the real truth: it's a total rip-off. The box it arrived in is probably stronger.
