Review on Vilros 2.4GHz Keyboard and Touchpad Hub for Raspberry Pi: Create a Compact Desktop Experience by Chad Cypert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Well built, fits models 2, 3 and 4 but requires a key

This is a really well built case. It fits nicely on my shelf next to my Commodores which is exactly what I wanted. The keyboard is well made and is very comfortable to type on. The touchpad is also of good quality, but not as good as high-end laptops (but it was never cheap back then). There's also plenty of room if you want to connect a ribbon cable to a breadboard or even install an SSD or similar. It also ensures that all your ports are available. It's hard to say, but seems like there's plenty of room for a hat or an internal battery connector, which would be pretty cool. There are several disadvantages. A wireless dongle is required for the keyboard. I was really hoping there was another way, but looking at the Pi's I/O options there really aren't any good options without a soldering iron and playing with USB ports. Getting to the SD card or changing the keyboard batteries or turning the keyboard on and off are very tough and difficult to pry out. I think it might be the plastic choice. Luckily I didn't break the tabs, but I would recommend being very careful with them.
