Review on Adapter EDUP 802 11Ac Wireless 10 6 10 13 by Alexander Scharon

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great for our laptops - use 5.0GHz!

This adapter doesn't really change your laptop's internet speed when you use it with your router's 2.4GHz band. However, it WILL increase significantly when using the 5.0 GHz band. We pay for the speed of 200 Gbps through our provider. My desktop reaches speeds of 180 to 260 Gb/s on an Ethernet network. When testing Wi-Fi speeds on three different Lenovo laptops in our house, each laptop showed around 50-52Mbps in the 2.4GHz band. However, in the 5.0 GHz band, every laptop ran at speeds from 180 Gbps to over 300 Gbps. So if you have a modem that supports at least 400 Mbit/s and a router that supports both 2.4 and 5.0 GHz, you should have no problems with this adapter. A NOTICE. When connecting the adapter, make sure that the network is present. Your computer will show your normal Wi-Fi networks under something like "Wifi" or "Wifi 1" and so on. The adapter adds another label that says something like "Wifi 2", "Wifi 3", etc. i.e. So make sure you are in the adapter settings and not the laptop settings when using the adapter. It will still show your network names - it's just another option if that makes sense. I've attached a picture of what my laptop shows when I plug in the adapter. The main network is shown as "Wifi" and the NIC as "Wifi 3". (Sorry the picture is blurry!). I select "Wifi3" and then my 5GHz band from there. I also photographed the speeds I get with a 2.4GHz setup compared to a 5.0GHz setup using an adapter. Huge difference! Of course, your speed may vary. :-) Hope that helps!
