Review on HJC HJ-20M FG-17 Mirror Silver Helmet Shield with Pinlock Technology: Superior Protection for Optimum Visibility by Brandon Wong

I bought a mirrored visor because I used a similar visor on my previous helmet (no HJC) that worked on clear days days worked perfectly. overcast and a few short overnight rides. This shield is a lot lighter than other mirrored shields I've used, which was tolerable. I wish it was a little darker if you drive directly into the sun. Mine looked beautiful for several months. So far I would rate it 3-4 stars. Then disaster struck. After cleaning so I could reapply the popular rain/water repellent, the mirror finish came off. Now it looks like a mesh effect all over the shield. It can still be used, but hardly ever. I'm going to buy a dark tinted visor to replace and wear either a clear visor or goggles so I can use my helmet for commuting. Ah, lesson learned.
