Review on Time Speciale Pedals Orange Pair by Brett Zhu

Metal platform mini pedal with awesome float

I have been mountain biking (XC and Enduro) with Time pedals for over 20 years. First with 2 pairs of XS (grey and very reliable), then XS 12 in carbon (black and red, very bad R&D), then XS again. These Speciale pedals are solid metal construction with a small platform (compared to flat ones). This includes 4 threaded mini cleats that you insert into the pedal for eventual traction with a soft rubber outsole. You can see in the photos my Specialized Tahoe has nothing to do with these pins. I hope that the pins protect the pedal from stone chips. They have a distinct click so you know when your shoe and spikes are locked. A new pair of shoe spikes is included with the pedals. If you've made it this far then you're probably already familiar with the "float" of Time pedals, which are great for people with knee problems like me. My first impression, backed up by professional reviews, is that these pedals are a good step forward for those who value buoyancy and need a light, strong, reliable pedal with a comfortable platform.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • A few little things
