Review on Top Knobs M1781 Additions Collection: 2 Inch Cabinet Latch, Flat Black - Sleek and Functional Hardware Solution by Ryan Dillon

I bought a German bronze finish cabinet latch and it looked and worked well. It is also completely disassembled (my antiques don't disassemble) BUT I bought it to match antique brass latches and as the latch was described as brass I was planning on reshaping the handle to match the others fits. After a bit of sawing, it became clear that I wasn't working with a copper pencil; white metal (see photo). To be clear, brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and is a yellow metal. I then went to the Top Knobs website itself and found that this bar is described as being made from zinc alloy. It is a pity that the seller does not consider it necessary to accurately represent his products.
