DEFINITELY not a scarf in a ball.

misleading. You MUST use a very tight pattern if you really want to use just one ball of yarn to make a shawl. I'm on my second and thinking about buying a third if I want to make an adult size scarf. One that uses a pattern that keeps you semi-warm, which is the purpose of the scarf, to let you seep through on a chilly day.
