I bought this light because it was one of the cheapest on Amazon and got great reviews. I've only had it for a few weeks but I like it. It's very light. I paint with watercolor and using it drastically reduces the time to sketch. It's bright enough to see clearly on 140lb watercolor paper. And I'm sure it will work with thicker paper too. It's dimming, although personally I only use the highest settings. It is very light and thin, slightly larger than the average printer paper size. A connection is required for use. I don't mind plugging it into the mains, but the cord is pretty short and quite frankly probably the biggest downside. However, I'm sure you could use a portable charger to "fix" the short cable issue. I use a glass table and a flashlight as a makeshift light box. It's 1000 times better, it's easy to use, it takes almost no time to set up and it's very easy to store. I would say that every art lover should have it.
