An essential tool to prevent honey spoilage

As a hobbyist beekeeper, I needed something to ensure the water contents in my honey was not too high before placing the honey in jars. This tool does the trick, allowing quick reading of the water content. My only complaint with this tool is that it appears to be cheaply built. As I am only using it once or twice a year, this is fine with me.Beekeepers should shoot for a water content of below 18%, as this reduces the likelihood of molding and spoiling. Otherwise, the honey should be placed in an area with a dehumidifier, or harvested at a later date. Most capped honey will be below the threshold.Six months after placing my honey harvest in jars, I am happy to report that no spoilage has occurred and the water content reading appear to be correct. I will continue to use this tool in the near future as I plan for my second year of beekeeping

Pros
  • Fun to use just set it up of moisturizer calibration your ready to use
Cons
  • The device may require additional tools and accessories to work correctly.
