Very handy in the back of my 2009 Chevy 2500HD during the winter months when I have a 5 foot grinder. The grinder weighs around 500 pounds empty (according to the manufacturer) and the fenders barely touch the axle. So in the warmer months when I ran out of a rear grinder I removed the fenders. Simply jack up the truck to hang the axle and simply remove the fender leaving the bracket attached to the frame.
