Revainrating 2 out of 5

After ten months of use I am revising my rating

Original thoughts below but here's the real downside: the handles are sticky! In the meantime I have knitted many kilometers of yarn, crocheted at least six blankets with these needles and several very large blankets. The handles are now sticky and rough. Every few days I get so fed up with them that I dust them with powder that only lasts a few hours. Pooh! -------------------- A few years ago I sustained myself pretty bad damage from repeated stress, which usually means I have to really limit my time I use the hook . I finally decided to try some of these newfangled ergonomic hooks. Pros: The rubber grip keeps my hand from slipping. The larger handle allows my hand to be in a more relaxed position while sewing. .The storage bag is very beautiful and looks quite durable. There is no strange smell. Cons: My aging eyes have a hard time reading the numbers on the handles at best, and the handles only show numbered measurements in millimeters, no single letter hook. Sizes I've gotten used to over the past forty years. I need to mark them with permanent marker so I can easily figure out which hook to use. Overall I'm impressed and think I'll enjoy using these hooks. UPDATE: I still love these jumpsuits (crocheted almost an entire baby size blanket) but wish the metal hook piece was a little longer than it is. Since I need to hold my hands to knit without pain, the extra length comes in very handy. It's not exactly a deal breaker, I still like the hooks, just the metal is too short in my opinion. Oh, and my "permanent" size marker is actually erased.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Damaged
