A couple of lovebirds in my apartment were showing breeding behavior so I decided to give them a little love nest gift. I've had the box for two days now and so far the birds haven't figured out how to sneak into the hole but they bombarded with might and main from the outside. Luckily the exterior is easily cleaned with a sponge, although I'm afraid I've given myself another day job. I've seen a woman chew on the top of the box, but she hasn't done much damage yet. Time will tell if she destroys all of these devices with her beak before even laying an egg. Will the lovebirds ever figure out how to get in the hole? Is the daily bombardment turning into a nightmare? I don't know but I have 3 packs of sponges and soap from the dollar store. I had to leave the aviary's roof open for them to explore before they got used to it. The female is now scurrying in and out of the box regularly and I reckon the eggs should come out every day now.
